Return to Sport Testing

Return to sport testing uses a series of land-based dynamic functional movements, researched and designed by Dr. Christopher Powers, PhD, PT, FAPTA, with our 2D motion capture technology, to determine whether you are ready to go back to your sport. It is part of the LOR Sports Lab in Laguna Niguel.

Assess injury risk, then build confidence

The test does two jobs: it measures, and it gives you something to work on.

Assess injury risk

Your strength, balance, flexibility and limb force and pressure symmetry during treadmill running are measured. Exercise recommendations are given on day one to correct at-risk movement patterns.

Build confidence

Worried about the next cut you will make on the soccer field or basketball court? Do you have nagging pain that keeps you from excelling? We hear those concerns, and that is why we do what we do.

Build confidence in movement

Train with us and take your game to another level. After an injury, the question is rarely only “does it hurt?” It is “will it hold when I plant, cut or land?” Return to sport testing answers that with numbers.

The testing follows from rehab for knee, shoulder and ankle injuries, and it sits within sports injury rehab. The Sports Lab page describes the other evaluations.
